Virginia P. (Ginger) Bruce, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 88. Born in Albertville, Alabama, on April 7, 1935, she was the daughter of Monroe Dallas Carter and Katie (Dilbeck) Carter.
Ginger graduated from Denison High School in 1955 in Denison, Texas, laying the foundation for a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication. On August 10, 1956, she embarked on a lifelong journey with her beloved husband, Ronnie D. Bruce, at the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church in Denison, Texas, officiated by Guy B. Duff. Luther and Rubby Thompson stood by their side, witnessing the beginning of a beautiful union that spanned 65 years until Ronnie’s passing.
A devout member of the Northside Church of Christ in Bonham, Texas, Ginger’s faith was the guiding light of her life. Her warmth and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Ginger dedicated 22 years of her life to serving the Creamway Diaper Jeans School System in Denison, Texas, and later worked at J-M in California. Her commitment to her work was surpassed only by her love for her family.
In her leisure time, Ginger found joy in crafting quilts for her family and taking walks, cherishing the simple pleasures of life.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe Dallas Carter and Katie (Dilbeck) Carter, her sister Billie Murphy, her great-niece Sandra Machiel Boatwright, and her stepfather Elmer Whitley. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will forever be cherished.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Biesecker, and husband Joel of Point, Texas; her granddaughters, Stephanie Ellison and husband Andrew of Denison, Texas, and Maia Biesecker of Rockwall, Texas; her great-granddaughter, Emma Morris of Denison, Texas; her sister, Brenda Coburn, and husband Donald of Gadsden, Alabama; her grand pups Bella, Bentlee, and Daisy; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Fairview Chapel in Fairview Cemetery, Denison, Texas. Family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 10 AM at the same location.
Ginger’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
