Denison
Willis Brock, 88, died at his home Friday, June 17, 2022 in Denison, Texas.
Willis was born in London, Kentucky on April 19, 1934, the son of Harvey and Effie (Large) Brock.
Willis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, working as an aircraft electrician and munitions system specialist. He and Dorothy Caudill were married on November 22, 1958 in London, KY after one week of actually meeting each other and a courtship of six weeks, they would travel the world together. She preceded him in death on November 16, 2012. His job in the Air Force took him and his family to England, Germany, France, Thailand and many bases in the United States, never staying more than two years in one place. He retired on July 1, 1976 after 21 years of service. Moving to Denison where he worked as an extraction technician for Folger’s Coffee until he retired (again). He and his wife loved to antique and owned several antique shops through their married life. Willis also loved to hunt, play golf, watch airshows, admire planes and work on puzzles.
He is survived by his son, David Brock and his wife, Darla of Denison; sister, Mae Kidd of Colorado; grandchildren, Shawn Guthrie, Athena Guthrie, Nicholas Brock and Adam Brock; great grandchildren, Blake Guthrie, Cassie Guthrie and Kix Mays; one great-great granddaughter, Rhiannon Guthrie and Willis’s significant other, Bobbie Baker.
Willis was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; second wife, Doris Crummitt; daughter, Donna Guthrie; grandson, Christopher Guthrie; six brothers and one sister.
Family visitation will be 6-7 Thursday at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 11:00 Friday, June 24, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Sheppard AFB Honor Guard.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
