June 29, 1948 - February 7, 2024

Arden (Steve) Riemann, Jr.

Steve passed away on February 7, 2024 at home with his family while under hospice care after first being diagnosed with cancer in 2016. Steve fought his battle with various forms of cancer with courage, resilience and grace.

Steve was born on June 29, 1948 in Columbus, Montana, the second of four children to
Arden S. Riemann, Sr. and Edith (Gates) and he was their only son. Steve graduated from Billings West High School and volunteered to join the U.S. Navy in the nuclear power program. After serving in the Navy, Steve brought his family home to Billings, Montana.

Steve married his high school sweetheart, Terri (Carroll) and they were married for 56
years. In 1984, Steve started his career in mining in Wyoming and finished his career in
2013 while living in Virginia. Steve and Terri retired to Peyton, Colorado and when his
cancer moved to his lungs, they decided to move to Sherman, Texas to be closer to two
of their daughters.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, nephew and several cousins. Steve is survived by his wife Terri and his daughters: Michelle (Robert) Hamm of Wright, WY; Nicole (Kenny) Morrison, Mead, OK and Jennifer (Steve) Corbett of Kingston, OK. As well as his sisters: Carol (Ray) Sebek of Lewiston, MT; Betty (Bill) Botnen of Billings, MT and Gayla (Kevin) Weidenheft of Bozeman, MT. and eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. In addition, sisters-in-law (prayer warriors) Mary Lynne Arthun of Anthem, AZ; Gerri (John) Rouane of Needville, TX and Jackie (Ron) Skaer of Phoenix and many loved nieces and nephews.

Steve was asked by a counselor after such a successful life what he was most proud of; Steve’s reply was, “That I am a father of three wonderful daughters” and then paused and said, “who gave me amazing grandchildren and great grandchildren.”

A funeral liturgy (Mass) will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sherman, TX at 11:00 a.m. with final interment in Mountain View Cemetery, Columbus, MT. Honorary Pallbearers: Tyler Hamm, Grady Corbett, CJ Corbett, Tyler Morrison, Matt Tyner, Charlie Stowe, Trent Ruff, Chris Davis and wonderful nephews. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Colorado – Wyoming Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 900 S Broadway, Ste. 210, Denver, CO 80209 in support of Steve and Terri’s daughter, Michelle Hamm who was diagnosed with MS in 2006.

Steve was my.big brother, my confirmation sponsor, and a man I looked up to since he and Terri started dating. He had a cool pickup truck. Steve taught me things, helped me out when I wanted to learn more about EMS and was the reason I tried out for the Fire Dept. When that didn’t work out, he supported me being a police officer. He made me laugh, and always made me feel like he was proud of me. It is an under statement to say that I love him and he was one of my heroes. I will miss him more than words can say, his teasing and his wisdom. I know we will see each other again. You fought bravely and have earned the rest and rewards you now enjoy. We will take it from here ” Grumpy”, rest easy.

I am soooo very sad to know of Steve’s passing! Terri and girls…he loved you and all of the littles! I know he was very proud of his life and his family. May funny memories help you get through this extremely rough time! Know that he is in the great hands of angels where he is telling tales (stories) and keeping them most amused! Know that time really doesn’t heal….you and your heart just learn to live with his presence up in heaven!

Sending lots of love and prayers.
    Love you all!😞 💜💜🙏🙏
