Bessie Mae Dickey, 90, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
Graveside services will be in Fairview Cemetery Chapel on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Keith Taylor will officiate.
Bessie was born on August 18, 1922 in Collinsville, Texas, the daughter of John Wesley and Ina Margaret Kelly Bullard. She attend school in Whitesboro, Texas and married Weldon Wesley Dickey on January 15, 1941 in Grayson County. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1988.
Bessie was a dedicated mother to her four children and a homemaker. She and Weldon enjoyed dancing and traveling. She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church.
The family suggests donations in Bessie’s name be given to a favorite charity.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis Dickey and his wife, Karen of Plano and Roger Dickey and his wife, Sandy of McKinney; daughters, Vel Ree Dickey of Sherman and Nancy Dickey of Denison; brother, Olan Bullard of Sherman; sister, Marie Walker of Whitesboro; grandchildren, Audrey Sarah Dickey, Jamie Dickey Sabbagh and Matthew Dickey and great-grandsons, Ben, Adam and Sam Sabbagh.
She was preceded in death by her husband; six brothers, Thurman, John Wesley, Frank, Wayne, Afton and Clifton; three sisters, Leona, Loretta and Frances.
