Betty Ann Underwood, a cherished matriarch, peacefully passed away on April 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 26, 1936, Betty’s life was one of warmth, generosity, and a profound love for her family and community.

Betty worked for Denison ISD for over 10 years as an office administrator. She found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of gardening and sewing. She had a green thumb and took immense pride in cultivating vibrant plants and flowers that brought beauty to her surroundings. Her skillful hands also created countless garments and keepsakes, sewing with love for her cherished family.

Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Theresa Davis of Pottsboro, Tx, and Deborah (DeeDee) Ramsey of Sherman, Tx. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her grandchildren, Tony Davis and wife Deana, Keri Davis, Gregory Davis, Michelle Owens and husband Mike, as well as her great-grandchildren, Keely Davis, Gunner Davis, Ashtyn Daniel, Jacob Bassett, Kyler Davis, Katie Davis, Aaron Owens, and Brody Owens. Betty is also survived by her siblings Norma Grigsby, Tom Whitley and wife Linda, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Harvey Andrew Whitley and Mary Lou Whitley, and siblings Francille Ramsey, Ethel Sells, Patsy Morrison, Don Whitley, Charles Whitley, and Sue McQuirk.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation, which will be held at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison, Tx, on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am.

Betty’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace.

    I could’ve sworn that Ronnie Underwood was her stepson for many years and she loved him very much. She has a granddaughter Sarah and great granddaughter June.
