Betty Lou Hunter, 86, of Denison, Texas, died of natural causes, Friday, December 4, 2020.
She was born May 29,1934 to I.W. McMillin and wife, Beatrice Hatridge McMillin in Lone Wolf, OK. She was the youngest of five children: Alonzo, Charles, Jimmy and Dave McMillin.
She grew up in Gainesville, Texas and met her husband, Lloyd (Buster) Hunter there. They were married August 12, 1950 in Gainesville and began their married life there until the Korean War broke out and Lloyd was called to serve while Betty stayed in Gainesville. They had two children, Richard Hunter and Gregg Hunter.
Betty Lou drove the special needs bus for Denison ISD for many years.
Betty Lou is survived by son, Richard Hunter and his wife, Janet; grandson Joshua Hunter and his wife, Melissa and great granddaughter Haleigh Hunter and son, Gregg Hunter and his wife, Rita; grandson, Shane Hudgins and granddaughter, Mallory Canaday and her husband, Nathan; great grandsons, David and Caleb Canaday; granddaughter, Bailee Hunter and great grandson, Greyson.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband and brothers.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at New Resthaven Memorial Park in Gainesville, Texas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
