Beverley Gayle Brooks of Denison, Texas, passed away on January 10, 2023, at the age of 79. She was born September 26, 1943, to Robert McGowen and Willie Mae Strickland, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Beverley married Jerry Howard Brooks, on October 20, 1984, in Midland, TX.
Beverley graduated at the top of her class and was awarded a full scholarship in music; piano and voice. Beverley graduated from University of Oklahoma and quickly accelerated her career to a Chief Contract Officer for major defense companies in Oklahoma and Texas.
Beverley is survived by Daughter, Robbie McCranie (Marcus) of Lewisville, TX; grandchildren Melissa Batchelor of Celina, TX and Michael Darring of Irving, TX; 7 great grandchildren; sister Lynda Meyers of Opelika, Alabama; and brother B.B. McGowan of Dallas, TX
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, 631 W. Woodard St., Denison, TX. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, January 13, 2023 at Johnson -Moore Funeral Home. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Pkwy, Sherman, TX. 75090 for a committal service.
