Bobbie F. Smith “The Minnow Lady”, 81, died at her home on Lake Texoma on Friday, March 3, 2017.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Georgetown Cemetery with Chaplain Dr. Cherie Fry officiating.
Bobbie was born in Dallas, Texas on November 14, 1935, the daughter of Robert Craddick and Margaret Fay Coffman Lyles. She attended Dallas and Denison schools and she and John Smith were married in Denison on August 8, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1982. Together they owned and operated Little John’s Bait Shop. She continued with the wholesale bait business and was in the business for 50 years. She loved Lake Texoma and was an avid fisherwoman. She never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith.
Bobbie is survived by her daughters, Larissia (Leigh) Howell and her husband, John of Denison and Carmen Barrett-Crew and her husband, Jack of Pottsboro; sister, Judy Holt of Rusk, Texas; grandchildren, Shandreka Anderson, Andrea Anderson, Johnny Howell and his wife, Kata, Brittany Hayden and her husband, Ethan, Jordan Barrett and Ryan Barrett and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John and son, Johnny Smith.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the SPCA, 8520 FM 720, McKinney, TX 75070.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
