Christina Lynne Harvey, 54, of Pottsboro, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus just after midnight on 03/27/2023 after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer.
Christy was born on 10/25/1968 to Richard Oakley and Marcy Harrelson in Rockford, IL. She moved to Pottsboro, TX at a young age and was spoiled by her grandparents, Bill and Parelee Cassell. She later attended school and started her family there with Andy Wheeler who preceded her in death on 05/28/2004.
After a few jobs when she was younger, she went to work at Kwikset (Spectrum Brands) in Denison where she met many life-long friends and the love of her life, Tim Harvey, She worked there for over 26 years until she was unable to work any longer.
After many years of dating, Christy married Timothy Harvey on 04/18/2003. He was there to support her and care for her throughout her battle with cancer. He never left her side.
Christy enjoyed camping, the beach, watching shows with her husband, and spending time with family. She especially loved being a Mimi to her grandchildren.
Christy is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, Tim Harvey; daughter, Amber (Bobby) Bartley; son, Michael (Ashli) Wheeler; stepson, Zachary (Ashley) Harvey; grandchildren, Zaidyn, Cooper, Addison, and Maddox Bartley, Payzlee and Dayzee Wheeler, Parker Jenkins and Britain Edmund, Cameron and Emily Harvey; mother, Marcy Harrelson; father, Richard (Vicky) Oakley; siblings, Trina (Terry) Severson and Troy Oakley, Tony and Marty Harrelson, and Doni Jerger; and an army of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William (Bill) and Elizabeth (Parelee) Cassell and Vincent and Doris Oakley.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Johnson-Moore Chapel in Pottsboro, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Johnson-Moore Chapel in Pottsboro, TX with Bro. Don Hollister officiating. Interment will follow at Georgetown Cemetery (weather permitting). Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Friends and Family are invited to gather and share memories after the services at VFW Lakeside (250 VFW Drive, Pottsboro, TX). Food will be provided by the VFW Post 7873.
