Deana Marie Keeter, affectionately known as Aunt DeeDee, departed from this world on November 29, 2023, with her husband Doug by her side. She graced this world on June 13, 1970, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, spreading her light and beautiful smile through countless lives until her final moments.

In the summer of 1994, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship with Doug Keeter, uniting their hearts in marriage on July 30, 1994, in Yukon, Oklahoma. Their bond served as a testament to enduring love, resilience, and mutual support.

Deana’s essence radiated an infectious positivity, of selflessness, kindness, and an ever-giving nature. Her unwavering commitment to placing others before herself showcased her servant’s heart. Her mere presence had the power to brighten any room, her smile a beacon of joy that lifted spirits effortlessly. A cornerstone of her life was her active engagement within the community, tirelessly contributing to fundraisers and lending her support wherever needed. Her passion for making a difference echoed in every endeavor she pursued.

She battled Cancer twice in eight years, with unwavering determination and an unyielding spirit. Her resilience in the face of adversity was a testament to her courage and strength. She epitomized the true essence of a fighter, refusing to surrender to the challenges that beset her. Among her cherished treasures were her fur babies, Berkley, Peatie, and Ranger, whom she adored with boundless affection.

Deana leaves behind a legacy woven with love, survived by her devoted husband, Doug Keeter; 2 siblings, Natalie Gordon and husband Raymund, and Michael Cummins Jr. and wife Elizabeth; 4 nieces and nephews, Lacey Billeg, Allie Gordon, Trey Cummins, and Amber Cummins; great niece and nephew, Bryson Billeg and Raylee Billeg; mothers-in-law, Jan Keeter and Judy Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Angie McKinney and husband Jay and Julie Haller; one step brother-in-law, David Sandlin and partner Kelly Farrell; and one step sister-in-law, Lavon Sandlin.

She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Leslie Cummins and Mike Cummins Sr.; her father, Larry Groom Sr.; her father-in-law, Ed Keeter; and her brother, Larry Groom Jr.

A celebration of Deana’s remarkable life will take place at 3 pm on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the American Legion Post 231, located at 133 Army Lane, Pottsboro, Texas 75076. In honor of her memory, the family suggests that memorial contributions can be flowers sent to American Legend Post 231 or a donation can be made to Women Rock, Inc – Sherman, Texas, an organization close to Deana’s heart.

Deana’s departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. May her spirit continue to inspire and uplift us all.
