Dorothy Louise Payne Perry, 86 of Denison went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
Dorothy was born in Sadler on January 20, 1928 and remained in Texas her entire life. She grew up in Sadler until she graduated from Sadler High School, then moved to Ft. Worth where she worked at the Quarter Master Depot, and spent her remaining years in Denison after her marriage to Robert Leroy Perry (Roy) Sr. in Sadler, on August 30, 1947, he preceded her in death on November 21, 1998. She was a wonderful homemaker and faithful mother. She later became an office manager for Roy Perry Insurance of Farmers Insurance Group, and was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 18, 2014 at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Branscum officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Family night will be held on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Active Pallbearers will be Ben Perry, Zack Perry, Elliott Perry, Randy Seely, Adam Perry, Clay Perry, Perry Lane and Scott Seely. Honorary Pallbearers will be Reuben Brooks, Justin Vissering, James Perry, Harold Walker, Brent Brooks, Douglas Soell, Jerry Smith and Robert Wilson.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Donna Perry of Denison, Bob and Debra Perry of Amarillo, Ron and Lisa Perry of Denison; daughter, Pam Perry Lane of Denton; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Greene of Whitesboro; brother and sisters-in-law, Reuben and Mary (Perry) Brooks of Austin, and Patsy (Perry) Seely of Whitesboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clayborne “Bud” Payne and Florence Odell Wood Payne; husband, Robert Leroy “Roy” Perry Sr.; brothers, William Eugene, Everett Hiram, John Ernest “Red”, Wesley Howard, Orville Astar, and James Clayborne (Jr.) Payne; sisters, Mary Rebecca Pond, Thelma Gertrude Jay, and two stillborn infants; mother and father-in-law, Everett Guy and Ruby Amanda Perry; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Bobbie Perry, Watson Seely, and Nick Perry.
