Dorothy Neidert

September 15, 1930 - March 24, 2023

Dorothy Neidert, 92, of Denison, Texas passed away on March 24, 2023 surrounded by family.
She ended her journey in the town in which she was born to Joe and Ruth (Frame) Newcomb on September 15, 1930.

Dorothy married her best friend and love of her life, Paul Neidert on June 19, 1949. As members of the Good Sam Camping and RV Club, they loved camping monthly with friends. They traveled and shared stories of their adventures on the open road. When she wasn’t traveling, Dorothy worked for the Katy Railroad and Kawneer and raised two sons, Gary and Eric.

Dorothy had another love, Katy, her beloved Jack Russell Terrier. Katy’s high energy worked well with Dorothy’s calm and content nature. After Katy passed away, she loved visits with her grandaughter’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Texas. Her garden was legendary, and she always had the most beautiful light pink baby rose bushes.

A faithful Christian, she was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Denison. She fiercely loved her grandchildren and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Gary and his wife, Cathy and Eric and his wife, Amy; three grandchildren, Krisleigh and her husband Mark, Jake, and Kelly; three great grandchildren, Kayden, Makayla and Ava; as well as countless beloved family and dear friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Neidert; son, Michael David Neidert; brother, Ralph Newcomb; and her parents.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, 631 W. Woodard Street, Denison, TX 75020. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am that day, at the same location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Pkwy, Sherman, TX 75090, for a committal service.

Gary-I am so sad to hear that you lost your Mother. I was at my Dads today-Doyle Price, he told me he had read in the paper. He told me stories of her time at the Katy. And of course iof your Dad. Dad was in accounting, but she did not work for him. She mostly worked for Mr. LaGrone he thought. He said she was a very nice lady and did her job well. They asked her to resign when she married your Dad. My how times have changed for women in the work first today. My thoughts are with you and your family. Sandra Price-Ciox.
