Eugene Douglas Moore

Eugene “Gene” Douglas Moore, 91, of Pottsboro, passed away January 13, 2020 with his daughters by his side. He was born to the late Oscar and Spicie Moore in Elrod, Alabama on November 11, 1928.
Gene proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine and then attended and graduated from the University of Alabama. He married Patricia “Pat” Greer Moore in 1955. Gene and Pat were both two of the proudest Bama fans on earth and not bashful about it! Gene began and retired his entire career with the U.S. Government Department of Defense.
Gene and Pat lived in Georgia, Alabama and finally in Texas. They moved to Pottsboro in 2011 to be closer to daughters, Michele Sanseverino (husband Ray) and Pam Moore. Gene is survived by sister-in-law, Beverly Farabee (husband David). Gene is also survived by grandchildren, Trey, Taryn, Nicole and Deonte and great grandchildren, Saren and Kale, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, in the spring of 2019.
Gene’s utmost priority in life was taking care of his family. He would go to the end of the earth for all of us…blood and chosen family. A good man represented himself well on earth for 91 years. We will all rejoice together again one day!
Per our parent’s wishes, services will be held in the spring in Birmingham, Alabama.
