Hollis Fowler

Hollis Fowler, 91, passed away at his residence, Monday, September 11, 2017, in Denison, Texas. Hollis was born on February, 14, 1926 in Denison to Labe and Opal O’Dell Fowler. He attended Denison schools. He married Elna Mae Johnson in Oklahoma and spent 46 years with her until her death in March of 1997. Hollis was a general contractor and carpenter with Allen & Wilson Construction Co. and later became self-employed. As a younger man, he served in the United States Navy during W.W.II and sailed on the USS Young, a destroyer.
Graveside services for Mr. Fowler will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Charlie Smith will officiate.
Hollis is survived by two daughters, Nita Brockelman and husband Robert and Hollie Fowler, all of Sherman, TX; and brother, J.T. Fowler of Denison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Elna Mae Fowler; brothers, James Henry Fowler and Billy Carl Fowler; sisters, Juanita Montgomery, Kathleen Marr, Katherine Burke, Jean Bankhead and June Fowler.
