Janell Marie Burton

June 11, 1969 - January 20, 2017

Janell Marie Burton, 47, long-time beloved resident of Pottsboro, passed peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017, in her home with her children by her side.
Janell was born on June 11, 1969 in California to Tom Burton and Charlotte Burton.
She graduated high school and attended Grayson County Community College, where she received her associates degree in Criminal Justice. She then proceeded to thrive in Grayson County; making new friends with every job.
Janell was a very vibrant and loveable woman. She was very straight forward and gave the utmost honest advice and best direction to all who knew her. Everyone in the small-town community adored Janell and her lasting first impressions. She constantly left a smile on everyone’s face, from ear to ear. She also enjoyed shooting, fishing, and spending time with her three boys and their families; whether it be a simple gathering at home or on Lake Texoma in the boat. She lived her life to the fullest, with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other, with the sound of her contagious laughter. She was a truly wonderful person that touched many lives. She will be dearly missed.
Memorial services will be held 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Georgetown Baptist Church.
She was survived by her father, Tom Burton and mother, Charlotte Burton; sons, Chance Heffington of Pottsboro, Kevin Atterberry and girlfriend, Amanda Knight of Pottsboro, and Ford Atterberry and girlfriend, Katrina Ochs of Pottsboro; grandsons, Cooper Atterberry of Pottsboro, and Jaxton Atterberry of Pottsboro; sisters, Jerean Gianni of California, and Joelle Freitas and husband, Kirk of California; and numerous nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved, Kent Halliburton; son, Logan Goodwin, and her brother, Joe Burton.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County at 505 West Center Street, Sherman, TX 75090
