Johnnie Gibson passed away peacefully to her Lord Jesus on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Johnnie Lois was born in Hagerman, Texas on August 20, 1927, the daughter of Howard and Opal (Seat) Shires.
She graduated from Denison Senior High School. Johnnie and Bill Patterson Gibson were married on December 28, 1946.
She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for many years. Johnnie had many hobbies, one of which was playing the piano. She had no formal training but could play by ear and just music in general was something she really loved. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gibson; son, Frank Mark Gibson; grandson, Ron Cousins and sons-in-law, Ronnie Cousins and Ted King.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Cousins and Barbara King; son, David Gibson; sister, Jean Hughes; brother, Bob Shires and daughter-in-law, Carol Korioth. She had 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Memorial graveside services will be Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2 PM at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas, officiated by Keith Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to Southside Baptist Church, 3500 S. Park Avenue, Denison, Texas 75020.
