Joyce A. Brown

Joyce Brown, 80, of Pottsboro went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on August 4, 1934 to Orbie and Henrietta Randolph Armstrong in Sunnyside, TX. Joyce graduated from Springlake High School in West Texas, and received her Associates degree from Lubbock Business College. She married Andrew Brown on April 10, 1977 in Lubbock . She was a loving housewife, mother and grandmother, and a member of Trinity Methodist Church. She was an avid Bridge and Canasta player and in her younger years, she loved fishing and bowling.
Survivors include her sons, Ronald and wife Dora Lee Brown of Houston, Keith and his wife Darcell Brown of Denison, and Lee Brown and his wife Callie of Gerald, TX.; daughter, Sonya and her husband Ray Harrington of Salado, TX.; Joyce’s deceased son Jack’s life partner, Carolyn Lemon of Oklahoma City, OK.; sisters, Minnie Bell and husband C.D. Allen of Fort Smith, AR., and Pat and husband Max Goforth of Herford, TX.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew Brown; son Jack Brown; and one sister, Doris Pettit.
A Memorial service will be held 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Deacon C.D. Allen officiating. The chapel will open at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
