Mary Anne Smith Grace, 84, went to be in the arms of Jesus on Monday, March 28, 2022 at her home in Denison, TX. Mary Anne was born on September 17, 1937, in Sherman, TX, the daughter of Ruth Bullock Smith and Carl Edwin Smith. She was raised in Denison, TX, and graduated from Denison High School in 1956 and from Draughon’s Business College in Dallas, TX, in 1957. Mary Anne moved back to Denison where she met her love, Edwin Grace. The night she met Edwin, she went home and told her mom “I’ve met the man I’m going to marry tonight.” They married on December 9, 1959, and raised four beautiful children. In 1971, they moved to Yuba, OK, where they lived for 37 years and were active members at Yuba Baptist Church and later, Kemp Baptist Church. In 2008, they moved back to Denison where they had been actively involved at her childhood church, Parkside Baptist.
Mary Anne loved to travel with her husband and together they toured all 50 states, in addition to Canada, Mexico, and her favorite was a trip to Israel ‘walking where Jesus walked’.
Mary Anne is survived by her husband, Edwin of nearly 63 years; her sons, Eddie Grace and wife, LeighAnn and Carl Grace, all of Durant, OK; her daughters, Dr. Terri Price and husband, Jeff of Lewisville, TX and Crystal Turner and husband, David of Southmayd, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany Cooper, Leslie Cooper, Misty Stubblefield and husband, Aaron, Dustin Doshier and Edlyn, Christopher Grace and wife, Kelli, Jacob Grace and wife, Tori, Benjamin Grace and wife, Callie, Dr. Kimberly Meredith and husband, Chris and Jordan Price. In addition, she is survived by five great grandsons and eight great granddaughters; her sister-in-law, Betty Smith; niece, Alicia Elliott and many great nieces and nephews.
Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ruth Smith; sister, Betty Hatch; brothers, Jackie Smith and Jerry Smith and niece, Brenda Pickle.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 1, 2022 at Parkside Baptist Church in Denison, with visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am, followed by final interment at Rosewood Cemetery at Achille, OK, with Jerry Coffman officiating. Pallbearers will be Dustin Doshier, Jacob Grace, Benjamin Grace, Chris Meredith, Jordan Price and Jalon Griffith.
