Melba Jean Weems went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2020. She passed away in her home at the age of 76. She was born March 5, 1944 in Dallas, Texas, to Milton James Bietendorf Sr. and his wife, Mary Alice (Dobraski) Bietendorf.
Melba was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. For many years she attended the Preston Community Church in Pottsboro, TX.
Melba lived her entire life in Texas. She grew up on a farm in Dallas and loved being in the country. Her love of gardening and tending to her trees, allowed her to enjoy a self-sustained life, while watching her trees grow and bloom, living off her land and enjoying the country life. Sewing was another hobby that Melba was passionate about.
In her early years she worked at The Salvation Army. She was a former director of The Father’s Heart ministry of Denison, TX, but most of her years were spent as a homemaker and taking care of her family.
Melba is greatly missed by her whole family, they will continue to hold on dearly to her memory.
Melba is survived by her daughters, Tina March and husband Kevin, of Saginaw, TX, Gina Walker, of Gillette, Wyoming, Julie Weems, of Pottsboro, TX; son, Jay Weems, of Pottsboro, TX.; brother, Milton James Bietendorf II of Duncanville, TX; and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will not be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
