Montie Jones

November 25, 1936 - January 1, 2024

Montie Paul Jones was born on November 25th, 1936, and peacefully passed away on January 10th, 2024.

Montie was born in the heart of Oklahoma City, OK, to his parents, Father Lucian Jones and mother Edna Thompson. His early years were marked by the love and warmth of his family, shaping the compassionate soul that he became.

In 1984, Montie embarked on a new chapter in his life, relocating from many years of fishing adventures off the coast of Florida to the beautiful state of Texas. It was there that he discovered his passion for the serene beauty of Lake Texoma and the art of fishing and hunting. The tranquility of the lake became a sanctuary for him, a place where he could connect with nature and find solace in the simple joys of life.

The year 1985 brought a profound change when Montie met the love of his life, Sally Davis. Their connection blossomed into a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments. Together, they navigated the journey of life, supporting each other through thick and thin, creating a tapestry of memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew them.

Montie was not only a loving partner but also a dear friend to many. His passion for fishing and hunting cultivated deep connections with a circle of friends who shared in his adventures. His presence, marked by a warm and welcoming spirit, will be fondly remembered by these cherished companions.

In reflecting on Montie’s life, we honor the memories of those who preceded him in death. He is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved mother, Edna Thompson and stepfather Charles Moore.

A private family burial will take place at 1 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Rosehill Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

In these moments of grief, may the memories of Montie be a source of comfort, and may the love he shared continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
