Patricia Lorraine Rhyne

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia L. Rhyne, who departed this life on March 1st, 2024, at her cherished home in Pottsboro, Texas. Patricia, known affectionately as “Miss. Pat” by her adoring students, was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her 79 years on this earth.

Born on August 17th, 1944, in Ballinger, Texas, Patricia was the beloved daughter of Johnny Earl Reddick and Jessie Juanita Reddick (Jones). She was also blessed with three siblings: sister Larna Walker and husband Don, sister Carolyn Mosier, and brother John Reddick.

Patricia’s professional journey led her to the heart of the education system, where she served as the cafeteria manager for Pottsboro Independent School District. Her dedication and genuine care for her students endeared her to all who crossed her path. The affection and respect her students held for her were evident in their endearing nickname, “Miss. Pat.”

In the realm of family, Patricia found her greatest joys. For 44 years, she walked hand in hand with her beloved husband, Gene Floyd Rhyne, creating a legacy of love and devotion. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, blessed with four children: Son Bobby O. Flanagan and wife Brighid, son John P. Flanagan, son Kelly Flanagan and wife Susan, and daughter Angela Houghland. Patricia’s love knew no bounds as she embraced her role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with unwavering tenderness and care. Grandchildren: grandson Kenny Houghland, granddaughter Taylor Houghland, grandson Jeffrey Houghland, granddaughter Amanda Flanagan and fiancé Shane Hughes, and granddaughter Jesseca Flanagan. Great-grandson A’Jayson and great-granddaughter Harley, great-granddaughter Ivey, and great-grandsons Ivan and Xander. Her presence illuminated the lives of her numerous nieces and nephews, who were touched by her affection.

Outside of her professional and familial duties, Patricia found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether she was engrossed in a coloring session with her beloved grandchildren, lost in the pages of a captivating book, or meticulously sewing intricate designs, Patricia approached each moment with grace and enthusiasm.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Earl Reddick and Jessie Juanita Reddick, and her brother, John Reddick.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Patricia L. Rhyne will be held on March 16, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
