We have lived across the street and 2 houses down from Peter for over 15 years. He always said he wanted to move back to New Mexico. He loved his two “Bubbas”. We saw the 2nd Bubba today at his memorial service. One of his friends has taken him. We were happy his dog is being taken care of. We have two memories of Peter that we would like to share with you. He would always stand in his yard and motion for me(Gloria) to come down to trim or mow his yard when we were working out in our yard. The Monday after Peter died some of the neighbors on our block got together and mowed and trimmed his yard. Also Peter would borrow our air pump when the wheel on his riding lawn mower would go flat. I think that was his way of striking up a conversation. About 8 weeks ago Peter was talking to me outside and he mentioned he was afraid he would die in this house and no one would know it. He must have had a premonition about his death. Luckily Cindy found him. She did a nice job with his service today. God Bless.

What the opbit does not tell you is that LtCmdr Cosgrove resigned his comssion in the British Navy to accept the same in the US Navy. His story was that he had come up for promotion in the UK and his commanding officer informed him “Cosgrove, your promtion is denied, the ony way you’ll lead your men is astray ….”
