I first met Richard when I was a new Boy Scout in Troop 719. He took me under his wing and helped me as a shy kid to fit in. He embodied what being a Boy Scout was all about. Rest in peace Richard!

Jay, Theresa, Bea – I’m so sorry for your/our loss. I met Richard as a high school freshman and he and David Jansen became my best friends. In college, Richard and I roomed together for 2 years, and he was my best man at my wedding. I truly regret that we didn’t manage to get together in person after reconnecting earlier this year, but glad that we at least had some conversations. May Perpetual Light shine upon him and may he rest in Peace, Amen.

So sad to hear of the loss of Richard! We met Richard while he was at A&M. He was the roommate of our future son-in-law Pat LaCour. He always called my husband Papa Gregg. We also camped at Fairfield Park while he was a ranger and he made sure we had a perfect campsite! I’m glad my husband was able to talk to him earlier this year as he was special to him.
