Robert Lee Hersey, affectionately known as Lee, passed away on February 14, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on October 8, 1941, in San Diego, California, Lee leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and craftsmanship.
Lee is survived by his devoted wife, Rebecca Hersey, his daughters Wendy Skinner (and husband Michael) and Lisa De La Cruz, son Phil Hersey (and wife Ana). He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Malorie, Alexis, and Christopher; sister, Bonnie Tignor; and brothers Clifford Hersey (and wife Karen) and Ricky Hersey (and wife Rita). Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Hersey and Virginia Woolley; his second wife, Ellen Hersey; and one granddaughter, Natasha Giraud.
Throughout his life, Lee was known for his skilled hands as a carpenter, his unwavering loyalty as a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, and his passion for television.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Lee was a cherished member of the Freemasons, where he found camaraderie and shared values with his brethren.
Lee will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his love for his family. He leaves behind a wealth of memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
In honoring Lee’s wishes, a memorial graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, March 1, 2024 at Hagerman Cemetery, Pottsboro, Texas, to celebrate his life and the memories he leaves behind. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
