Robert Paul Brooks

February 20, 1969 - November 5, 2014

SHERMAN-
Pastor Robert “Paul” Brooks was born September 29, 1950 in Denison, Texas to Robert Maurice and Nancy Katherine Wright Brooks. He passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 5, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul attended Denison High School and married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Gene Anderson, February 20, 1969 in Denison, Texas. They were married for 29 years until her passing. Paul later fell in love and married Beverly Sharon Randles September 5, 1998 at Trinity Lighthouse in Denison, Texas.
Paul gave his life to the Lord at the age of 12 and never looked back. He spent the rest of his life serving God and sharing God’s word with his family, friends and strangers.
Paul always loved sports and as a young boy hit the first homerun at Waterloo Park in Denison, Texas. As a young man, he loved coaching Little League baseball in Denison and Pee Wee football in Sherman. He worked for Baker Brothers Pest Control in Sherman for several years before opening his own business, “Brooks Pest Control”, in 1986.
As well as being a business owner he was also an evangelist, he served at Trinity Lighthouse in Denison, Texas and Victory Life in Durant, OK and was the associate pastor and pastor of Raynal Tabernacle in Denison, Texas. In 1999 he and his wife, Beverly Sharon were led to attend Christ for the Nations missionary program in Dallas, Texas and became missionaries in Mexico where they traveled all over Mexico teaching the word of God. While in Mexico and barely speaking the language, he could be found sitting on the street corner telling the children Bible stories and the children would come in droves to listen. People were drawn to Paul because of his gentleness, kindness and caring heart.
Family night visitation will be Saturday, November 15th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Johnson-Moore Funeral home in Denison, Texas. Memorial services will be at Sunday, November 16th at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison, Texas with Reverend Raymond England officiating.

It was an honor and privilege to know Paul. He was dedicated to God and his family. He always had a good word to lift your spirits. “No person is truly alone. Those who live no more, whom we loved, Echo still within our thoughts, our words, our hearts.” Richard Fife May Paul’s family find comfort and peace during this time. God bless. I’m so sorry for your loss but we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Paul was a great guy. I have many good memories of him down through the years as we attended many revivals and church services together. Praying for God’s strength for you and your family during this difficult time.

So thankful to have known Paul here on earth but so thankful that we will see one another again one day in Heaven. He was a blessing to my family. He was always so kind and humble. He has the greatest smile and loved others with such a big heart. He will be missed by many. Sharon, you and Paul made a good match as you served the Lord together. You will be in our prayers for the Lord to continue to give you a supernatural strength and understanding in days ahead. We love you and hope you know you can call on us any time. God bless you and family in this hour of sorrow due to your loss, but rejoice that Paul is no longer suffering and is happy to be in the presence of Jesus Christ his Lord.
