Ruth E. Cole, 85, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at her residence in Denison.
Family visitation will be Monday from 7-8 p.m. at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with Reverend Dave Pettigrew officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at Fairview Cemetery.
Ruth was born in Steele, Missouri on October 20, 1929, the daughter of William Johnson and Bertha Chanley Wyatt. She graduated from high school in Caruthersville, Missouri. She and James H. Cole, Sr. were married in Caruthersville, Missouri on February 28, 1945. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2005. Ruth was a nurse for W.D. Blassingame, M.D. for many years and was a member of Denison Church Of The Nazarene.
She is survived by her son, Clifford S. Cole of Denison; daughter, Ruthie P. “Polly” Staley and her husband, Buddy of Denison; sister, Dorothy Spalding of Smyrna, Deleware; grandchildren, Shaylen Staley and his wife, Carol and Aimee Cole all of Denison; great-grandchildren, Tristan Staley and his wife, Marissa Wilson Staley, Abby Staley and Jackie Cole and great-great granddaughter, Olivia Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Cole, Sr.; son, James H. ” Jimmy” Cole, Jr.; daughter, Jacqueline Louise “Jackie” Cole; grandson, Michael S. Cole and his wife, Tina Embry Cole; four brothers and two sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
