Sonia Moreno Green – Sonia was born on Wednesday June 6th 1979 in Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, Mexico and went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, September 8th 2021. Sonia came to the United States looking for better opportunities sometime around 2001-2002, and lived Gainesville, Texas till around 2004. Sonia eventually married Timothy Green in 2005, and established residency in Denison, Texas where she remained for the rest of her life.

Sonia worked numerous odd jobs before settling for a few years at Grayson County College as an employee in the cafeteria. In 2011, Sonia eventually went to work as a Machine Operator for Ruiz Foods where she remained employed until her untimely death. Sonia was described as a valued employee, and a diligent, hard-working woman.

Sonia was a Christian who loved God, and attended Baptist Churches in both Gainesville, and Denison respectively. Sonia was a beautiful woman who had a great sense of humor, loved to dance, and had a smile that could light up a room. She was a great mother who loved her children and grandson dearly. Sonia was loved and adored by many and will be terribly missed by all who knew her.
Sonia is survived by her Mother, Irma Moreno of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico; Father, Leonicio Contreras also of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico; Daughter, Damaris Contreras of Sherman, Texas; Son’ Rosvel Contreras of Denison, Texas; Grandson, Malakai; Sisters, Ana, Maria de Jesus, Martha, Silvia, Maricela & Brothers, René & Ruben and dozens of other family members here in Texas and abroad.

A memorial service will be held at Lakeway United Methodist Church in Pottsboro, Texas on Friday, September 17th 2021 at 3:30 pm.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.

    I worked side by side with Sonia at Grayson College. I’ll never forget her sense of humor, and smile. I still quote her jokes till this day. RIP Bonita
